Rural Skills Course starting 23rd August

This Free Training course runs 1-2 days a week for 20 weeks and is open to all 16-25 year olds based in Highland Perthshire.

It is a fantastic opportunity for any young person thinking about a career in the rural sector/land based industries.

The course includes certified training in Chainsaw and Brushcutter operation, Quadbiking and Pesticide use as well as training and practical work experience in fencing, dry stone walling, tree planting, footpath work and habitat management etc.

The aim of the course is that by the end of the 20 weeks the trainees will have the relevant qualifications and experience to move into employment/further education in their chosen field. Past trainees have gone on to work on local estates, farms, golf courses and for Forest Enterprise.
