CWA/MLWW Conference

The 2017 CWA / MLWW Conference will take place on Friday 20th & Saturday 21st October at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld. This year will see a change to the usual format: we will be starting the conference on Friday and will be welcoming groups from the rest of the UK who are involved in the Making Local Woods Work project. This year's conference will be much bigger than usual as we expect to welcome up to 150 delegates, including 50 or more from outside Scotland. There will be the usual mix of speakers, workshops, site visits, networking and ceilidh. Workshops will cover a range of topics including: woodfuel, adding value to timber, social finance, education and volunteering.

Conference bookings are now open via our Eventbrite booking webpage. We have a limited number of rooms available at the Westerwood, where we would like to fit in as many delegates as possible. If you are able to share a room this will help us and greatly reduce the delegate fee! We anticipate being able to support delegates’ travel costs. CWA will manage delegate T&S for Scottish community groups, Plunkett Foundation will manage travel bursaries for MLWW groups from the rest of the UK. Please note that CWA and MLWW groups can book two delegate places per group at the prices advertised. If you wish to book additional delegates please contact Jon or Caroline.

The draft conference schedule and fees can be found at www.communitywoods.org/event and will be updated as speakers and workshop hosts are confirmed. Please contact Caroline at admin@communitywoods.org if you have any questions or require display space.
