Tim Fison and Richard Paul walked the Dùn Coillich Butterfly Transect today. The species of butterflies encountered were - Green Veined Whites, Green Hairstreak and Orange Tip (both males and females seen). A number of moth caterpillars were seen as well and the identification of these awaits a statement from Butterfly Conservation.
We had another great day up the hill today, this time with the P6/7 class from Kenmore primary. They worked hard putting tree tubes on the trees they planted earlier in the spring and then had great fun pond dipping in the 'scrapes' in the afternoon. It was great to have such an engaged class so keen to learn, even the rain did nothing to dampen their enthusiasm!
